OUR HISTORY

Connect Ce; a dba of general procurement Inc., was established in 1996 by founder and president Imad Boukai. What began as a just in time memory distributor in 1996 soon grew into a key player in the Mexican computer component market supplying a wide range of various computer parts through its distribution points in Mexico City, Tijuana, Merida and Monterrey. In the late 90’s General Procurement expanded its international presence to include the Middle East. With a point of distribution centralized in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia General Procurement has been able to make the most of this emerging market and reach customers throughout the region including Egypt and the United Arab Emirates. Despite the fact that General Procurement has always had its corporate headquarters in Southern Califo rnia, the US market was never a main focus until 2004 when General Procurement and its Connect brand began being sold in the 250 CompUSA stores throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. By entering the US market, General Procurement has increased its buying power with major manufacturers such as Intel, AMD, Fujitsu, Kingston and Samsung and continues to find success as a key distributor in a market that has reached maturity and saturation. Currently General Procurement continues to supply CompUSA with its Connect brand of components, and in mid 2007 will continue its Latin American expansion by opening branches in Miami and Puerto Rico. With over 100 employees, 7 branches and representation throughout the world, General Procurement continues to uphold its reputation as a distributor of brand names at value pricing while maintaining long term relationships with major manufacturers and customers alike.
